As is well-known, Vitaliy Klichko was absent at the meeting of the opposition on June, 9 in Khmelnitskiy. The party’s UDAR leader was absent during the action “Get up, Ukraine!” in Donetsk as well. About motivation of Vitaliy Klichko’s selective participation in the opposition’s actions – in the comment of the head of the Centre of Applied Political Studies “Penta” Vladimir Fesenko.
Selective participation of Vitaliy Klichko in the actions of the opposition is a display of the certain political technology tactics of the UDAR leader.
“Get up, Ukraine!” – is not Klichko’s project, it’s the initiative of Arseniy Yatsenyuk. And as the experience proves, in the context of so-called consolidated oppositional actions initiated by “Batkivshchyna” or Yatsenyuk, “Svoboda” also gets dividends; its tactic line is to conform to “Batkivshchyna” but from time to time to come to the fore.
“Svoboda” often uses formats of other, but owing to higher activity and good organization (especially in its regions and in Kiev) often wins.
Klichko could not fully reject other’s initiatives. At the same time he needs to demonstrate that they are actually not number one for him. Thus in UDAR they have found an optimal tactics – to participate only in particular actions. But at that to tell that UDAR representatives apparently are going to participate in all events of the opposition. Thereby members of UDAR achieve two goals.
The public opinion poll shows that this approach has no impact on Vitaliy Klichko’s ratings. But the fact certainly proves that there are tactical differences between UDAR and other oppositional forces, conflict of interest. Every of oppositional forces tries to play its own game. They are apparently together, but from time to time Vitaliy shows that he is all by himself
