The speaker Vladimir Rybak reported that Victor Yanukovich agreed to meet the factions’ leaders and to discuss the current situation in the parliament. About functions and political expediency of such meetings – in the comment of the director of the Centre of Civil Society Problems Studies Vitaliy Kulik.
There are several issues the discussion of which would be advisable during the meeting of the president with the parliament factions’ leaders.
Firstly, it is necessary to conduct consultations regarding introducing of Alexander Kopylenko in VR whom the president has introduced as a candidate to the Central Election Committee.
Secondly, the president has not made his message to Verkhovna Rada pubic. The consultation post factum can give the power the feedback of the opposition regarding the message text. Especially because there are issues of the next year budget policy as well as the direction of political process development in Ukraine in general. In this context the consultations with the factions’ leaders can give the required feedback to the power.
Thirdly, the break in communication of the president with the factions’ leaders and the parliament has been dragged out. It should be got over somehow. Such communication form as the consultation with the factions’ leaders makes it possible not to accumulate the communication deficit of the head of state with the parliament.
